SINGLE Getting Backlinks Automatically.
General October 2nd, 2009Instant Niche Maker has helped members create THOUSANDS of professional niche websites.
Yet that is just one piece of the puzzle.
You can have the best website in the world but if you aren’t getting traffic it’s not serving much purpose is it?
We’ve been working on automating the traffic side of things.
One of the best ways to get traffic to your site is through backlinks. Backlinks are when a different website has a link back to your site, preferably using the keywords that you are trying to get highly ranked for in the search engines. For example: Here is a link: Best eBay Seller Tools.
Search engines LOVE backlinks. Why? Think of them as restaurant reviews. If two new restaurants opened in your town, and you kept hearing great comments about one, but nothing about the other, which would you choose? Probably the one which “has the buzz”.
It’s the same with websites. When there are thousands, even millions of websites trying to get visitors for the same keywords, search engines look to see how many different sites are talking about each site. The one that gets the most mentions wins.
(Note: This is a very generalized explanation. There are more factors involved , but backlinks are a major factor!)
But not all sites are equal in referral strength, just like all restaurant reviews are not equal. Who would you listen to… 10 Kindergartners saying that McDonalds is the best place to eat, or your professional chef friend saying you should visit “Chez Louie”?
See the perceived authority is important too. Google came up with a method of doing this called pagerank. It’s often abbreviated “PR”. For example, a new site will normally be “PR-0″ (zero).
Google is PR10, MSN.com is PR8, Dilbert.com is PR7, etc…
For FireFox users, you can install this plugin to help you check pagerank and other SEO stuff too. It’s worth watching the video on that page too.
An important thing to remember is that PR is not linear. That means that a PR10 site is NOT 10 times better than a PR10 site. The difference between say… a PR6 and PR7 site is exponentially greater!
So before your eyes start glazing over
we’ll stop discussing tech stuff.
So the question is how do you get backlinks to your site?
Well of course the best way is for webmasters and bloggers to naturally mention you and create a backlink. But that’s hard to do when you’re just getting started.
